The City has received more than 7,100 service requests related to the extreme weather event and more than 6,100 reports of basement flooding.

Following the extreme weather event on July 1, the City of Ottawa has received 5,304 reports of basement flooding. Multi-agency recovery operations are ongoing across the city to provide emergency services, clear debris, and support impacted residents.

One-week ago today, on July 1 (Canada Day) the City of Ottawa took a direct hit by a series of strong thunderstorms resulting in high winds causing varying degrees of damage and dumping 118mm of rain yielding a number of flooding issues to both public and private properties. This cancelled festivities across town and left basements across the City with water damage.
