Thanksgiving schedule changes
The City of Ottawa would like to remind residents of the following schedule changes and City service impacts for the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, October 12.
Client Service Centres
The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Please visit ottawa.ca/311 to submit a service request online.
ServiceOttawa’s Client Services counters and phone lines will be closed. Counters are located at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West), Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Drive), and Orléans (255 Centrum Boulevard).
The Provincial Court and Administrative Penalty System Hearing area located at Mary Pitt Centre (100 Constellation Drive) and the supporting counter and phone lines will be closed.
The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed.
The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate will be closed.
The City of Ottawa Archives at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed from Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12.
Green bin, recycling and garbage collection
There will be no curbside green bin, recycling , garbage or bulky item collection on Monday, October 12. Pick up will take place on Tuesday, October 13. In addition, the collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
Residents can sign up to receive collection reminders and service alerts by email or phone call on the collection calendar page.
Multi-residential garbage containers and bulky items will be collected on the regular scheduled day. Collection of multi-residential recycling containers and green bins will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open on Monday, October 12 from 9 am to 5 pm.

Parking
All City parking regulations apply.
Transit Services
OC Transpo
OC Transpo bus and O-Train service will run on a Sunday schedule.
O-Train Line 1 will run from 8 am to 11 pm.
O-Train Lines 2 and 4 will run from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm.
Rural Shopper Route 301 will not run.
Use the Travel Planner or Transit, the recommended app for OC Transpo customers, to plan your trip.
On Thanksgiving and every Saturday, Sunday and statutory holiday, take advantage of the 2-for-1 DayPass, where two customers can ride all day for $12.25.
Purchase the 2-for-1 DayPass at any ticket machine or from your bus operator.
Kids 10 and under can ride for free every day on OC Transpo buses, the O-Train and Para Transpo.
Youth ages 11 to 18 ride free on weekday evenings after 5 pm, weekends, and holidays, including on Thanksgiving.
The Rideau Centre OC Transpo Customer Service Centre will be open on Monday, October 12 from 10 am to 6 pm.
The OC Transpo Lost and Found at St-Laurent Station will be closed. Customers can submit an inquiry about a lost item at octranspo.com/lostandfound.
The Transit customer service line at 613-560-5000 will be open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Para Transpo
Regular bookings or recurring trips for Monday, October 12 are automatically cancelled. Customers can book trips for Thanksgiving starting Monday, October 5 by calling 613-560-5000 or using My Para Transpo.
The reservations line and My Para Transpo will be open from 7 am to 5 pm for booking trips.
To get trip details and cancel a trip, the information and cancellation phone line will be open:
Friday and Saturday from 6 am to 2:30 am
Sunday to Thursday from 6 am to 12:30 am
The text 57272 service will be open from 6 am to 9 pm (standard rates apply).
You can also get trip details and cancel trips anytime, 24/7, through the automated phone system or My Para Transpo.
The Taxi Coupon line will be closed.

Recreation and cultural services
Most recreation and community centres will be closed on Monday, October 12. However, select pools, arenas and fitness complexes will operate on a modified schedule. Please check the facility pages for details of modified hours or schedules.
City-operated museums, galleries, Ben Franklin Place, Shenkman Arts Centre, and the Nepean Creative and Visual Arts Centres, will be closed.
Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe remains closed.
Ottawa Public Health
The Site mobile van will operate from 5 pm to 11:30 pm.

The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed.
Dental clinics will be closed.
The Parenting-In-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed on Monday, October 12.
Connect with a registered nurse from Health811 for free, secure, and confidential health advice. Service is available in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages.

Employment and Social Services
All four Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Monday, October 12:

Municipal child care services
All municipal child care centres will be closed on Monday, October 12.
Ottawa Public Library
All branches of Ottawa Public Library (including Bookmobile, Home Services and InfoService) will be closed on Monday, October 12. Digital content and program listings are available through the Ottawa Public Library website . Virtual programs are available on OPL’s YouTube channel. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 13.
