A New Deal for Ottawa
Earlier today, I was pleased to join the Mayor alongside my Council Colleagues for a discussion and announcement from Premier Ford. The Premier has announced $543 million dollars in new investments into the City, including funding for rural road upgrades and important priorities for rural Ottawa.

Ward Updates

City-wide Burn Ban in Effect
All open air fires are prohibited during a ban, including for properties that have an Open Air Fire Permit.

This ban applies to agricultural burns, brush pile burns, campfires, or any other open air fire anywhere within the city limits.

Rural Summit Survey is Now Live
I am please to announce the launch of the Rural Summit survey! The Rural Summit 2024 aims to serve as a platform to enhance the provision of City services for residents and communities in rural Ottawa. Engage Ottawa has launched a survey designed to gather valuable insights from rural residents. This survey will inform ward-specific workshops scheduled for this Spring. The outcomes from these workshops will contribute directly to developing the agenda for the Rural Summit 2024, scheduled for November.

Your participation is vital as we work together to address the unique needs of our rural communities and shape a brighter future for rural Ottawa.

Rural Clean Water Program Funding
The Ottawa Rural Clean Water Program (ORCWP) provides funding for projects that protect surface water and groundwater quality.

Landowners completing projects in 2023 may be eligible for grants of up to $15,000 depending on the project they are undertaking. The application deadline is May 1, 2024.
