Working to Get Trucks Out of Manotick Village - The Right Way

After decades of inaction, I’ve been working tirelessly to reduce truck traffic through Manotick, and real progress is happening.

In this video, I explain what’s already been achieved, what’s next, and why it’s important that we stay focused on long-term results instead of actions that could backfire.

I completely understand that residents want trucks out of the village as soon as possible. I do too. But this issue can’t be solved by a single motion or a simple vote at Council. The reality is that if a motion were forced today and defeated, the matter couldn’t be brought back to Council again for the rest of the term, setting the effort back years.

That’s why I’m taking the strategic route: securing the infrastructure upgrades, new truck route designations, and data-driven reviews needed to get this done the right way and make it permanent.

If there were a magic button I could press to remove trucks overnight, I would have pressed it already. Until then, the work continues, and it’s moving forward faster than it has in decades.
