The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is currently seeking new members for its Board of Directors for the 2026-27 calendar year. The Centre provides essential health and social services to residents of all ages across far west Ottawa.
Role and Responsibilities
Governance Focus: Board members participate in high-level decision-making regarding policy development, finance, risk mitigation, and community advocacy.
Time Commitment: The position requires approximately five hours of service every month.
Volunteer Nature: This is a volunteer role and does not include remuneration.
Candidate Requirements
Desired Expertise: While all passionate community members are encouraged to apply, there is a particular need for skills in finance and accounting, fundraising, health equity, and communications.
Diversity and Inclusion: The WOCRC is looking for candidates who reflect the diversity of the community, specifically welcoming applications from Francophone, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, and African, Caribbean, and Black communities, as well as persons with disabilities and those with relevant lived experience.
