March Break at the Goulbourn Museum


Celebrate the "Sounds of Ireland" this March Break at the Goulbourn Museum! This interactive week-long program invites children to explore Irish culture through a series of hands-on activities, from building fairy houses and hunting for mythical creatures to crafting traditional rag dolls and "illuminated" letters. With daily themes like St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and Irish dance lessons, it is a wonderful way for local families to enjoy history, creativity, and a bit of March Break magic together.

    Daily Activity Highlights

    • Monday: Folklore & Fairy Tales – Build a fairy house and go on a mythical scavenger hunt.

    • Tuesday: St. Patrick’s Day – Craft lucky charms and search for the pot of gold.

    • Wednesday: Move to the Music – Make shamrock shakers and learn fun Irish dance moves.

    • Thursday: Irish Rag Dolls – Create a unique friend using traditional fabric techniques.

    • Friday: Illuminated Letters – Decorate bright, shiny letters inspired by ancient Irish books.

Please Note: These activities are best suited for children aged 4–11. Parents or guardians must remain onsite during the event.
