Hazeldean Cemetery Tour with the Goulbourn Township Historical Society

Led by Roger Young, a well known local historian and descendent of the original Talbot Settlers of Hazeldean, we will visit two local historical cemeteries.
The visit starts with the Old Union Cemetery at 21 Young Road, which is behind the Masonic Hall and across the Street from St.Paul’s Anglican Church. A short drive will take us to Maple Grove Cemetery at the Corner of McCurdy Drive and Maple Grove Road.
We will learn about the beginnings of settlement in Hazeldean and the lives of the early settlers who came from Ireland and now rest in their new land. We will discuss particular individuals of interest and their lives and times. And we will examine the cemeteries from a historical standpoint.

Our tour will start at 1.30 p.m. at the Old Union (Pioneer) Cemetery.
