What to Expect
Upon arrival, vehicles will be directed into a queue and parked in designated spaces.
Residents must remain in their vehicles at all times. Staff will unload materials directly from your trunk.
Cyclists are permitted to drop off materials and must follow instructions from on-site staff.
Material sorting is not permitted on-site. Please organize your items before arrival.
Only household hazardous waste will be accepted. No electronic waste will be collected at this event.
Important Guidelines
Containers larger than 20 litres or loads over 100 litres by volume will not be accepted.
Commercial waste is not accepted.
Bins, gas cans, and totes will be returned to residents if requested.
If using a cardboard box to transport materials, please line it with a garbage bag to prevent leaks.
Household Hazardous Waste Includes:
Aerosol containers
All light bulbs and tubes (no string lights)
Paints, stains, and driveway sealers
Fertilizers and pesticides
Motor oil, oil filters, and gasoline
Pool chemicals
Oven and window cleaners
Disinfectants and pharmaceuticals
Perfume and aftershave
Fire extinguishers and propane cylinders
Mercury thermometers/switches
Needles and syringes
These products are corrosive, flammable, or poisonous and should never be placed in regular garbage or poured down the drain.
What Not to Bring
Electronic waste – Bring it to the Trail Road Landfill for free, or find a local drop-off using the Waste Explorer.
Empty paint cans – Place them in your blue bin.
Dried paint – Can go in the regular garbage.
Batteries – Use the Waste Explorer to find a return location near you.
Stay Safe and Prepared
This is a contactless event. For everyone’s safety:
Stay in your vehicle
Pack materials securely
Arrive early, as the last vehicle will be accepted at 4:00 PM sharp
