GTHS Presentation: The Goulbourn and Local Homefront During WWII

Join the Goulbourn Township Historical Society for a fascinating presentation with Mark Heckman, titled "The Goulbourn and Local Homefront During WWII: 5 Stories to Share."

This presentation reflects the important and often overlooked contributions of the local "homefront" during the Second World War. Stories will include:

  • A plane crash near Richmond

  • High School Students training at a rifle range

  • German POWs as farm labourers

  • The death of a Richmond resident while training

  • A Hollywood movie filmed at a local Ottawa airbase
