Meet David
A lifelong resident of Richmond in the former Goulbourn Township, David was elected to represent Rideau-Jock Ward in 2022. His deep-seated commitment to the community is rooted in his upbringing in the village, where he still lives today with his partner, Melissa, raising chickens in their spare time.
David’s passion for the ward is matched by his dedication to the agricultural. David is a graduate of Kemptville College. His experience in agriculture directly informs his work on Council, as he works hard to ensure that Ottawa’s famers and rural residents have a seat at the table and their voices are heard.
David’s public service journey began at the federal level, where he started out as a volunteer on federal election campaigns, eventually moving on to work for the Minister of Democratic Reform. Motivated by his commitment to his community, David transitioned to municipal government. Prior to his election, he spent six years working for two City Councillors, building up his knowledge of municipal services and how city hall functions.
Beyond his political work, David is a dedicated community leader. His involvement began at a young age with the local 4-H club and evolved into a long-standing relationship with the Richmond Agricultural Society (Richmond Fair). He has served the organization in numerous capacities over the years, including a term as President, and he continues to serve on the Board of the Richmond Fair.
David remains focused on being an accessible and results-driven representative for the people and villages of Rideau-Jock.
