University of Ottawa Heart Institute Mobile Screening

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is bringing its mobile screening program to the Manotick Legion to help detect valvular heart diseases. This free initiative offers early detection, diagnosis, and treatment for heart valve dysfunctions, which often go undetected. The screening is designed specifically for seniors who do not currently have a cardiologist or known heart issues.

  • Location: Manotick Legion (5550 Ann St, Manotick)

  • Dates: March 3, May 27, June 17, and July 22

  • Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 65 and older with no known heart issues and who do not currently have a cardiologist.

  • Appointment Details: The appointment takes 30 to 60 minutes and involves a mini ultrasound of your heart, measurements, and rapid finger poke blood tests to evaluate cardiovascular risk factors. A cardiologist will review the results, and recommendations will be provided at the end of your visit.

  • Registration: Available times fill up quickly. The fastest way to register is via the confidential online link below. You can also contact the Contact Centre for Valvular Heart Disease by phone or email.
